At the request of the Governing Assembly and the Ministry of Education and Culture (which has overall responsibility for UNESCO sites in Indonesia), the Design Proposal for the development of the sites was displayed in the form of a traveling exhibition. The Exhibition traveled to a number of international venues before touring the villages within the World Heritage sites for comprehensive review by the subak farmers, the tourist industry and other advisers. The result of the Design Charrettes was to be funneled to the Visitors and Education Working Group of the Governing Assembly.
