Launch of Traveling Exhibition in Jakarta

To celebrate the 1st birthday of the UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape of Bali</strong>, the Vice Minister for Culture and Education gathered together the senior Ministry Officials and Academics to devise a way forward. After a year in the pipeline, Steve Lansing presented Studio Rede's Landscape Conservation and Livelihood Development Plan for the World Heritage site. Titled Gateway to Sacred Lands: A New Model for World Heritage Conservation the project was launched with a book and a traveling exhibition now installed at the Ministry. After a brief residency there it will travel to Bali, visiting the 21 villages located within the World Heritage area to begin an extensive community participation campaign from which will emerge the design of the new cultural landscape.
