Sponsored by The Storefront for Art and Architecture, Julia has been awarded a New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) independent project grant. Since 1966, NYSCA in its Independent Projects category annually awards project grants to professionals in the architecture, design, and historic preservation fields. This year NYSCA awarded eleven grants throughout New York state to individuals, of whom Julia Watson was a celebrated recipient, receiving the highest score from the judging panel in recent history. The book titled Ancient Innovations will be the third publication from Columbia University Urban Design Department’s ‘Innovations in Infrastructure’ book series. Ancient Innovations is fiscally sponsored by Storefront for Art and Architecture. This project is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
