Lusail City Open Space Plan was the second place entry for the Open Space Landscape Master Plan Competition for Lusail, Qatar for Office of Architecture Barcelona was designed in collaboration with Landon Brown, Irene Hwang, Chechu Zabala with Julia Watson. The complexity emerging out of the relationship between the desert landscape of Qatar and the pace of development in the region demanded a new approach to confront the challenges of 21st century design. Located in a tidal zone at the juncture of a large ocean front bay, the site offered the opportunity to study the collaboration of native environmental forces and the potential for open space planning, educational facilities and new hybrid ecological infrastructures.
